A thyristor is a key semiconductor component in power electronics that is used in many UPS systems. It is capable of switching extremely high voltages and currents - precisely, reliably and cost-effectively.

In modern UPS solutions, the thyristor is a key component for controlling energy flows, for switching between mains and battery operation or for controlling rectifiers and inverters.
