DC link
The DC link is a connecting link between the rectifier and the inverter of a UPS system. It serves as an intermediate buffer that stabilizes the current flow and stores the energy required between the various conversion processes (from direct current to alternating current).
As a rule, the DC link contains capacitors or batteries that have the task of smoothing the direct current and providing the inverter section with the energy required to convert it into alternating current. In addition, measuring devices are also integrated into the intermediate circuit to monitor important operating parameters such as voltage, current and temperature.
