The inrush current refers to the high current drawn by an electrical load when it is switched on, which is often considerably higher than the current in normal operation. This starting current occurs in particular with devices such as transformers, motors, monitors, printers and copiers and can last for several seconds depending on the load. The inrush current is an important challenge for UPS systems as it can impair the stability and performance of the system.
