An emergency power generator is an energy source that serves as a backup supply in the event of prolonged power failures. It usually consists of a diesel engine and a coupled generator that produces the necessary electrical energy. These gensets are used to continuously supply critical loads such as server rooms, hospitals or other safety-relevant systems with electricity when the public power grid fails. They are an important component in emergency power supply systems, especially in combination with UPS systems, to ensure a seamless transition between mains and emergency power supply.
