DC link
A DC intermediate circuit is a central component in modern UPS systems and other electrical systems that require a conversion from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) and vice versa. The DC link is the interface between the rectifier (AC-to-DC converter) and the inverter (DC-to-AC converter). In a typical UPS system, the energy is transferred from the mains via the inverter to the DC link and stored in the batteries, which are then used to supply connected devices in the event of a power failure.
