The bridging time of a UPS system is the minimum period of time during which the UPS is capable of reliably supplying the connected loads even in the event of a power failure or mains fault. It indicates how long the UPS can use its batteries (or other energy storage devices) to ensure the supply to the connected devices after an AC power failure. This time is a decisive criterion for choosing the right UPS for different applications, from IT systems to critical infrastructures.
